Back in the US for a month now and pondering the life of this blog. A few people have asked if I'm going to keep blogging, so I'm thinking - do I have anything interesting to say when I'm just living my day-to-day life in DC? I suspect not, but I'm willing to try if people are interested in the attempt. Shoot me an email at mcarney11@aol.com if you see this and would like me to keep the blog going. I still need to do a trip wrap-up and am still working on a manageable selection of pics to show the highlights of my trip - it appears I took more than 2000 pics on my vacation! No one wants to look at that many pics of someone else's vacation, so I need to distill...working on it...
Soon after I got back from London, I took a quick trip to Massachusetts for my nephew's COLLEGE GRADUATION! Yes, that's right, my nephew Dan is a college graduate (and I am very old). He graduated from Lasell College WITH HONORS - I'm a very proud aunt. It was a gorgeous day for a graduation - one of few I've been to without rain or extreme heat or both - and it was great to see the whole family. It's rare to get the entire Carney (Kearney, Keherny?) clan in the same place so it's very special when we do. More on the name spelling issue later . . .
As for recent events, I want to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone for the ridiculous number of birthday celebrations in the past week or two. I truly appreciate your efforts, your generosity and your friendship. And after today's brunch, I am very happy to put this birthday behind me. ;)
