Most visited site in Germany (or so I've heard): Neuschwanstein Castle. Visited - check. Actually seen the castle in all its glory - fail. The fog lifted from just about everywhere I went today except the mountaintop on which Mad King Ludwig built his (now) most famous castle. On the bright side, the Disneyesque side was covered in scaffolding so I wouldn't have really seen it in all its glory anyway. It was a fun few hours despite the fog. I got to hike around a bit, met old folks from California (lugging around 30 Flat Stanleys!) and New Mexico, and bought my first real souvenir - a Neuschwanstein mug with hot chocolate plus a piece of cake for just 5 euro. Great deal! And the hot chocolate really hit the spot after a couple of hours atop Mt. Fog.
My next stop was supposed to be Garmisch-Partenkirchen, but...time out for dinner. Linguine - I couldn't take any more meat.
