Day 1 - Travel, travel, travel

DCA to Philly, Philly to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to Heidelberg!  Leaving the furry faces behind was hard, especially because I know Buddy will be miserable. Maybe after a week or so he'll break down and let someone else take care if him. Oh well, I've gotta live my life!  On the bright side, I managed to get my stuff to the airport in two carryons. God help the Germans if they decide to open my suitcase...it will not be easy to close!  I look like a homeless person but I should be relatively comfortable for my (kinda) overnight flight.  It's really just a night flight but the time change will put it over. Scheduled arrival in Frankfurt:  6:15 a.m.  Ouch.  I'm counting on adrenaline and excitement to get me through to a reasonable time without a nap. My experience on Team GTMO indicates that I can stay relatively alert and coherent for 36 hours, if necessary.  Can't wait to get in the air and on my way!!!!!
